Sleepwalking...

Last night, shortly after Jori & I went to bed, I heard something...
You know that amazingly instinctive & supernatural power of hearing noises moms have. I leaned over Jori's sleeping body and peered out into the dark hallway watching with wide eyes...would I see something? Yep, seconds later, I saw a shadow pass across the nightlight. Let me first preface all of this with---I don't do so well in the middle of the night or with sleepwalking children, things out of the ordinary, I tend to freak out!!! (Just ask Jori when I was sleep-deprived w/ newborns in the house---scary). I woke my dear husband and told him "I hope that's Sadie" as opposed to another person creeping around upstairs. He jumped out of bed when he saw the kitchen light go on. Not much later I saw my husband carrying Sadie under the arms and running full speed to the guest bathroom! I was concerned but eerily so, too much to get out of bed. When Jori returned I asked, "What was that all about?" He said, "I think we have a sleep-walker in the house." I was distraught, I've always heard all the stories from my sisters about their kids with night terrors, sleep-walking...all of the types of things that creep me out & now I have one in my house too. There is something about the night time and things out of the ordinary. Anyway, apparently Jori stood across the kitchen and watched as Sadie proceeded to drop her pants by the trash can as if she were going to go potty! He woke her by saying,"Do you have to go to the bathroom?" She immediately was startled awake and began to cry. That's when the running began. What a strange night. Something I don't look forward to repeating---although I know I will be and probably sooner than later.

You have it easy, my husband would never wake up, let alone get up if there were a noise in the house, especially to deal with the kids. Girl you have it easy!!!!

Hi! I thought I'd read some of your blog since you said you have been reading mine. I had incident like this the night before you did...although not as comical. I could hear my daughter crying in a panic in the middle of the night but she wasn't in her room. I found her in the guest bedroom, with the door closed, standing against the wall. Sleepwalking is the only thing I could think of. Odd!
